👨💻 About Me
Hi, I’m Zhengguang Chen — a software engineer with over 12 years of experience writing code, building infrastructure, and occasionally breaking things in interesting ways.
I started my journey in backend development, primarily working with JVM languages like Kotlin, Java, and Scala (especially when crunching data with Apache Spark). Over the years, my curiosity led me deeper into the world of DevOps and Platform Engineering, where I found even more satisfaction in optimizing systems, automating workflows, and empowering teams.
These days, I focus on building internal platforms and tooling — making sure CI/CD pipelines run smoothly, environments are reproducible, and developers are both efficient and happy. I genuinely enjoy supporting other engineers: they’re the best customers — technical, precise, and full of valuable feedback. Solving their pain points feels like leveling up the whole team.
🛠️ What I Work With
- Languages: Kotlin, Java, Scala
- Infra / DevOps: Terraform, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, GCP & AWS
- Big Data: Apache Spark, Iceberg, Debezium CDC
- Automation: Bash scripts, CI/CD optimization, developer tooling
🎮 Outside of Work
When the laptop closes, I jump into my PC gaming backlog (which is always growing). I’m a sucker for city builders — Anno 1800 has consumed more of my life than I care to admit. I also used to be deep into JRPGs on my Switch, but my four-year-old son has now claimed that console for his personal Mario Kart kingdom. I haven’t had it back in weeks.
Whether it’s building platforms at work or virtual cities at home, I love tweaking systems, watching things grow, and solving fun challenges.
Thanks for stopping by!
